Cookie Policy

Last Updated: September 30, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Global Crew Finder uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our Platform. We are committed to being transparent about the technologies we use.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website owners.

Cookies can be "session cookies" (which are deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).

2. Cookies We Use

We use a minimal number of cookies, focusing only on what is essential for the Platform to function properly.

2.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They include:

CookiePurposeDuration
__clerk_*Authentication and session managementSession / 1 year
__client_uatUser authentication token verification1 year
__sessionSession identifierSession

2.2 Analytics Cookies

We use analytics tools to understand how our Platform is used and to improve the user experience. They start only after you press Accept in the cookie banner, wherever you are. Until then nothing is tracked, and if you press Decline they never start:

CookiePurposeDuration
ph_*PostHog analytics - session tracking and feature usage1 year

We also use Vercel Analytics, which is a privacy-focused analytics solution that does not use cookies for tracking. It too is loaded only after you press Accept.

2.3 Marketing & Advertising Cookies

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies at the moment: the Meta Pixel described in section 3.3 is switched off. If we switch it on, it will set the cookies _fbp and fr (about 90 days) only after you press Accept, and we will update this policy first.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages:

3.1 Clerk (Authentication)

We use Clerk for user authentication. Clerk sets cookies to manage your login session securely. These are essential for you to access your account and use the Platform. For more information, see Clerk's Privacy Policy.

3.2 PostHog (Analytics)

We use PostHog to understand how users interact with our Platform, identify areas for improvement, and measure the effectiveness of new features. PostHog collects information about your usage of the Platform, including pages visited, features used, and actions taken. When you are logged in, this data is associated with your account to provide a better experience. For more information, see PostHog's Privacy Policy.

3.3 Meta (Facebook) Pixel (switched off)

We do not use the Meta Pixel at the moment: it is switched off, and nothing is sent to Meta from this Platform. If we switch it on, it would measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. It would load only after you press Accept, in every country, and we would update this policy before doing so. For more information, see Meta's Privacy Policy.

4. Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • View what cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete cookies individually or all at once
  • Block cookies from specific or all websites
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set

Please note that if you block or delete essential cookies, some parts of the Platform may not function properly, and you may not be able to log in to your account.

For more information on how to manage cookies in your browser:

5. Do Not Track

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. While we use analytics to improve our Platform, we only identify users who are logged in to their accounts. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings as described above.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

7. Contact Us
